We are looking to recruit a pro-active and passionate Apprentice Trainee Dental nurse who is looking for a new challenge and to grow into the role.
Responsibilities:
Greeting and caring for all patients in a polite and courteous manner
Providing chair side assistance during all dental procedures
Updating computer records and taking notes
Setting up and cleaning surgeries to high level, maintaining strict cross infection controls
Preparing instruments and materials during treatments
Work as a part of the team
Undergoing training and studying as required to develop your skills (online or at appropriate training provide facilities usually minimum of 2h per week).
Common questions answered:
Do I need qualifications to enrol on an apprenticeship? Yes, you will need GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above OR functional skills Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English
What are the working hours? Minimum of 30 hours per week – includes off the job time to training
Will I be paid whist I train? Yes, you earn whilst you learn (National Apprentice Minimum Wage)
What will my course provider and practice do? Full Training is provided leading to an internationally recognised Level 3 Diploma, you’ll be joining a friendly team of dental nurses and wider practice team who will support you with your apprenticeship, this will be online or at a college
How long will I be training? No more than 24 months for the apprenticeship, but training and development as a dental nurse continues throughout your career
How do nurses protect their health? Full health & safety training, appropriate PPE provision and Hep B vaccination is required to work as a Dental Nurse
Will I wear a uniform? Yes, a uniform is provided
